Project Overview

Overview

MeshPay models an offline payment handoff where one device creates an encrypted packet, nearby devices carry it through a simulated mesh, and the first bridge node with internet uploads it for backend processing.

Architecture

Encrypted Payment Packets: Hybrid RSA-OAEP-SHA256 + AES-256-GCM payload protection.
Duplicate-Safe Ingestion: Repeated bridge uploads are deduplicated using SHA-256 packet hashes and an idempotency gate.
Async Processing Pipeline: Bridge uploads enter a worker queue before decryption, validation, settlement, retry handling, or DLQ isolation.
Live Observability: Socket.IO streams route events, packet states, transaction outcomes, and DLQ records into a React dashboard.
Deployment Split: Vercel hosts the frontend, Render hosts the backend, with optional MongoDB and Redis integrations.

Why It Matters

MeshPay is production-shaped without pretending to be a real payment network. The mesh transport is simulated, but the backend concerns are real: encrypted untrusted payloads, duplicate storms, asynchronous processing, and failure visibility.
